AOL USERS - HERE'S THE POOR GRAPHIC QUALITY FIX
AOL by default uses compressed graphics that makes compressed pictures look
very bad. AOL is the only browser we're aware of that does this. If you are viewing web pages with pictures and the quality
is poor, this the probable cause.
THE FIX:
From the AOL main screen:
Select My AOL (from the pull down menu at the top)
Then Select Preferences
Then Select WWW - From here select the Web Graphics tab and uncheck the
"Use Compressed Graphics" check box.
Now to clear all the poor quality pictures from your browsers memory:
Select the General Tab.
In the box Temporary Internet Files select delete files
(check the box deleting all offline content).
This procedure is ok and will only delete the files that your browser stores in it's temporary memory directory (also known as CACHE) so it doesn't have to
download all the pictures when you visit a site.
Check your screen monitor resolution. Most site today use a setting of 800
X 600 HIGH COLOR or TRUE COLOR.
To check yours, hold your mouse over your desktop and right click, then click properties, then click the SETTINGS TAB, Screen Area should be set at
800 x 600 or better. Color should say HIGH COLOR or TRUE COLOR. Click OK and return to AOL.
You may need to exit AOL and restart it for the above to take effect.
You will now see our pictures and all the sites on the net the way they were meant to be seen.
